Hello and thank you for visiting my website, this is Yessie!

I am a Certified Yoga Instructor from California currently living in Seattle, WA. I am a Cali girl through and through, but more than that I am an adventure seeker. I am a curious person. I have found that I am, in a lot of ways, a misfit.  One of the few things that have been constant in my life is Yoga! Practicing it and teaching it. 

I am not a perfect person that does perfect yoga poses and is happy at all times, I am a person that has learned a lot and wants to share that with you. The reason being: What I learned helped me, if I share maybe it can help you too!

Instead of a divided world, or worse yet a divided human, I want to aid in creating more connectedness. Connection within myself, connection within you and connection to each other. As human beings we have more things about us that are alike rather than not, but our egos insist on the opposite and this self-induced division creates pain and suffering. 

Lets face it we are all going to suffer in life because we age, our loved ones pass away, and life isn't always easy, but you know what...we can make it better for ourselves! By getting our hearts, heads and bodies right and having them work together as a team! My favorite tools to achieve this are mindful living and yoga. With these practices we become better equipped to face the challenges life may throw at us and we also become more present for the precious moments that make life so sweet.

Upward Facing Dog Breakdown. This pose gives you so many wonderful benefits when done correctly. Use this video to learn the pose safely to get the most out of this powerful pose.

 

The focus of this video is to strengthen and lengthen your spine. If you are warmed up take it to your edge in the first set, if you aren't warmed up take gentle variations. Repeat as needed. :) Comment and let me know how you feel. Like Bikram says, "Happy Spine, Happy Life."

In this video we break down Halfway Lift -Ardha Uttanasana. This is a transitional pose that stays active the entire time. Enjoy. Love, Yessie

 

Throughout our yoga journey I'll cue half pigeon quite a bit. If half pigeon ever causes pain pain in your knee take this pose instead as a modification. Always take care of the knees. This pose is a great alternative because it opens the same areas, but you get to control how much pressure you apply.
