MEET YESSIE

Hello there, my name is Yessie.

I am a Certified Yoga Instructor living in Los Angeles, CA. If you are here then you are either a Yogi or wanting to learn more about Yoga and that makes my heart smile and brings a twinkle to my eyes. I love everything yoga!

My Yoga journey began right after I returned from a year abroad in Spain.  I believed I had lived the best year of my life and that I wouldn't have as much joy in my life as I did during my time in Europe or at least not until my next epic trip. A friend recommended I try yoga to deal with the transition from ending "the best year of my life" to coming back to "reality." Sounds like a silly problem I know, but at the time it really had me feeling down.

I took my friends advice and immediately fell in love with yoga.  As I continued to return to my mat day in and day out, MAGIC happened. I realized something so deep had transformed my life and that every single moment in our life can be "epic" or have daily enjoyment, as long as we live in the present. Although trips are amazing and I'm a huge travel advocate, you don't have to be in a far away place to enjoy living. We can get just as much joy in our daily activities as long as we do each and every single activity with mindfulness.

The person you want to be and the person you aspire to be is already inside of you! Yoga gives you the tools to learn how to shed all the “stuff” you do not need, whether it be negativity, a bad day, or letting go of unnecessary emotions, and helps to gain connectedness and awareness that makes life so sweet.

Upon discovering this, I did not want to keep this precious information to myself. I wanted to share what I had found that is when I decided to become a Yoga teacher and my life has been transformed ever since.

I hope to help you along this journey in any way that I can. Together we can make the World a better place one Downward Facing Dog at a time. I truly believe this!

Through my group classes, website & YouTube tutorials, I look forward to making yoga accessible to all. This website is my little yoga hub. I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Hello Hello! I am Yessie and this is Yoga With Yessie. I am so excited to share my yoga life with you and connect with YOU! Let's Dooooo Dis!!! Yoga time. Muah!

Upward Facing Dog Breakdown. This pose gives you so many wonderful benefits when done correctly. Use this video to learn the pose safely to get the most out of this powerful pose.

The focus of this video is to strengthen and lengthen your spine. If you are warmed up take it to your edge in the first set, if you aren't warmed up take gentle variations. Repeat as needed. :) Comment and let me know how you feel. Like Bikram says, "Happy Spine, Happy Life."

End your yoga practice with this series to cool down or do this series independently for reenergizing poses that are sure to make you feel good! Enjoy....and as always comment to let me know how you feel afterwards! :)

In this video we break down Halfway Lift -Ardha Uttanasana. This is a transitional pose that stays active the entire time. Enjoy. Love, Yessie

Throughout our yoga journey I'll cue half pigeon quite a bit. If half pigeon ever causes pain pain in your knee take this pose instead as a modification. Always take care of the knees. This pose is a great alternative because it opens the same areas, but you get to control how much pressure you apply.
